Life Being an At Home Mom!

Well here are the highlights of my first week being an at home mom! This was the first time Rocky and I have had a day off together, and not been out of town, since I went back to work. We used to work opposite days so on his two days off I would work all day. I'm glad we don't have to do that anymore, it was nice having two days off together:)

We took Ashlyn to the park one day! She loved it!

Ashlyn loves being outside in her stroller! She was so excited sitting there watching the birds and ducks. It is funny how kids naturally like animals, she loves our cats too!

It looks like this duck is doing yoga to me. I don't get how they balance on one foot while they are sleeping. (He was sleeping until I came up to take this pic!)

This is a video of her a the playground:)

She was so tired after playing. When we got to the car she was asleep like this.

So exhausted! She loves cuddling this purple bunny while she is sleeping! I think it is cute, Rocky thinks she is going to have attachment problems! LOL

Our friend Allie had her first birthday so we got to go to her birthday party!

It was really hard for all the other kids to be patient while Allie opened her gifts, they wanted to just dive in and start opening them for her. They all did really well though:)

Allie was not sure why this big group of people was standing around staring at her and trying to get her to eat this cake.

We also celebrated my first mothers day! (Somehow I forgot to take pics of this event) Rocky got me a gift certificate for a full hour consultation at the MAC cosmetics store, flowers, took me to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner, and of coarse, made it possible for me to be an at home mom! Rocky definitely knew the perfect gifts for me on mothers day! Ashlyn pooped while we where at the Cheesecake Factory so that was Ashlyn's gift to me! She knows how much I love poopy diapers in public places, especially in really busy restaurants!:) HA HA

The second half of the week Rocky and Ashlyn were sick so I got to take care of them. This was Ashlyn's first cold, poor little girl just wasn't herself. Even though changing poopy diapers in restaurants and taking care of sick families aren't the funnest things about being a mom, I still love them and am grateful to be the one that GETS to do them:)

Last Day at Work and Bread Dough Monster....

Well Friday was my last day at the bank! It is weird, I keep thinking I have to go to work on Monday. It was a fun day though, we had a huge pot luck at the bank and I pigged out! We had pizza, brownies, cookies, all the good stuff that I haven't been eating lately since I am trying to loose a few lb's:) They gave me a sweet card that everyone signed! Rocky and Ashlyn came to visit and hang out with me for the last hour of work! I am now officially an at home MOM!!!! :-)

Some of my friends and I decided to go to this discount bulk food store the other day. They had these frozen bags of bread dough that are already rolled into long skinny loaves, like what they get at Subway. There was about 12 or 14 loafs in the bag for three bucks so Angela and I decided we would each get one. Neither of us knew what to do with them but we would figure it out right! Well when I got home I forgot mine in my car so four hours later I remember "oh crap, there is frozen bread dough in my car!" So I go get it and it is not frozen anymore but still cold so I figured I would throw it in the frig and deal with it the next day! Keep in mind I know nothing about bread. So the next day when I got home from work I opened my frig and there was a big monsterous blob of bread dough taking over my frig!!! I actually jumped when I opened the frig, it scared me! I wish I would have taken a picture of it, it had broken through the bag and was growing up the side of our water filter! I have never made bread in my entire life so I called my mom, "what do I do with this huge blob of dough that is no longer in perfect little loafs and is way too much for two people to eat?" So now it is crash coarse bread baking time for me! I am really winging it and hoping some of my bread turns out! I better be good at making bread after this! LOL
Now you all know my secret that I am not a cook! I know, poor Rocky:) HA HA

I wish I would have taken pictures of these events. It is so much more fun with pictures:)

Funny Ashlyn Videos

We finally figured out how to put videos on our blog! Ashlyn is really starting to develop a personality! This first video was taken about a month ago:)

Last night we fed Ashlyn solids for the first time! I think she likes her rice cereal! She didn't know what to think at first but by the end she really started to get the hang of it!

Well I did it!

I quit my job! Last Thursday I put in my notice and it was announced this morning in our meeting! My last day is May 9th!! I have been with Compass Bank for 6 years so it was weird putting in my notice. I will be sad to leave (I know that sounds weird) but I am so excited to stay home with Ashlyn. This is the best thing for our family! Our plan has always been for me to stay home with our kids so now I will be home with this little girl!

Then on Saturday, Rocky got upgraded at his job!! Which was expecially exciting for me since I had just quit my job two days before!:) But I am so happy for Rocky, he really wanted this promotion! He broke the company record for shortest time between getting hired and the highest promotion available. He did it in under 5 months and the old record was 8! I think he is more excited about breaking the record than the actual promotion:)

Ashlyn's 4 month checkup!

Ashlyn is growing way too fast! She weighs 16lbs 1oz and is 26 inches long. She is in the 86th percentile for weight, 93rd percentile for height and 36 percentile for head size, she has a little head:) She moved up the charts compared to her last checkup. I was hearbroken when the nurse told me how much she weighed, I had her weigh Ashlyn again just to make sure. I don't know why it hit me so hard but I was kinda sad all day. I guess I didn't anticipate her being 16 lbs, it sounds so big I couldn't hardly believe it.

We take a picture of her every month with this care bear to show how much she has grown, I got the idea from Angela Barba. These two pics are at birth and four months.

Here are some pics of her at four months old!

My favorite is when she is just waking up, she is so cute.

She loves her feet lately
